The inspiration for this house was based on the colonial planters styled house which suits this agricultural housing development in Planters Haven, Nilai. Designed for a retired professor and his wife, the house has been their dream home to enjoy their golden years. Our job was to ensure their dream came true!
Sitting on a one acre land with a commanding view of the sweeping hills below this 8,000 sq ft property straddles the ridge of the sloping site with a courtyard at the entrance. The house opens up to a stunning sweeping horizon which were captured through full height windows and a water-edged verendah.
Water-features, jali screens, high ceilings, courtyards were all incorporated to create a tropical home that relied little on air-conditioning.The couple often enjoy sipping tea at the terrace and watching the sun set.
